Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 2 Gallon Jug made and stamped by "Connolly & Palmer, New Brunswick, N.J."
This is the work of Thomas Connolly and Charles Palmer who ran the pottery in New Brunswick from 1881-1888 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 80).
This beauty features the Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash, and a Freehand Brushed Cobalt Double Tulip in Strong Cobalt. The floral has 3 leaves and two blossoms, one with 4 petals and one with 6 petals. Stand 13 1/2" tall.
Exceptional Condition. As made. No damage of any kind. A kiln touch to the right of the decoration and two chips on the right side of the handle from separation from a jug above in the kind in the making (closeup).
