Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 2 Gallon Jug made and stamped by "Whites, Utica."
This is the work of Nicholas White and his sons, William and Charles, who ran the Whites of Utica family pottery from 1865-1886 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, pp. 70-71).
This beauty features the Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash, and a Bird Poised Proudly on the Branch of an Orchid. The bird features a striped breast, dotted wing, and a backward gaze. The orchid has 4 leaves, a blossom, and three buds. Stands 14" tall.
Very Good Condition. Overall staining from use. That's it! No chips, hairlines, cracks, or restoration.
