Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this superb 1 Gallon Stoneware Jar with 4 Stripes.
The color and decoration indicate that it was made in Palatine, West Virginia about 1880 (modern Fairmont).
This beauty features a Large Gallon Size, Finely Tooled Rim and Shoulder, and Four Brushed Cobalt Stripes Down the Front. The top stripe accenting the rim is straight and the other three are wavy. Pretty cobalt against a warm gray glaze. Stands 10 1/4" tall.
Excellent Condition. Some light scattered wear. That's it! No chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration. Some mottling in the glaze in the making.
