Item 11352

Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this fantastic 2 Gallon Semi-Ovoid Jar with Garland of Tulips.

The jar's form and decoration make it easy to attribute to David Parr who made stoneware in Baltimore, Maryland from 1815 to 1855 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 98).

This beauty features a Squared Rim, Applied Handles with Cobalt Accent, and a Garland of 8 Brushed Cobalt Tulips Around the Middle.  The cobalt used is strong and shiny and forms a pleasing contrast with the light gray glaze.  I have matched it to a form and color fitting lid.  Stands 12" tall.

Very Good Condition. Some chips around the inner lid seating ring and a small surface line baloe the rim (closeup).  That's it!  No rim or base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.  Three small kiln touches on one side in the making. The lid has chips along the outer edge.
