Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 1/2 Gallon Stoneware Ovoid Jar from Baltimore, Maryland.  
 
Circa 1850, this beauty features an Early Ovoid Shape, Tooled Square Rim, Applied Handles with Cobalt at the Terminals, and a Brushed Cobalt Floral on Each Side.  Each floral has a base leaf from which two stems with four leaves emerge.  Each stem supports two blossoms with three petals.  Lots of decoration and lots of cobalt!   Shiny and dark cobalt too!  Stands 10" tall. 
 
Excellent Condition.  Some water glass rings inside and very minor nibbles around the rim and base as shown.  That's it!  No hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.  A drying/firing line inside in the making.
