Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this Rare 1/2 Gallon Merchant Jug made for "C. H. Seabright, Dealers in Dry Goods, Groceries, & General Merchandise, Benwood, W. VA."
 
Circa 1880 and likely made in Greensboro or New Geneva, Pennsylvania, this beauty features the More Uncommon 1/2 Gallon Size, and 6 Lines of Stenciled Advertising in Complete and Crisp Letters.  Stands 9 1/2" tall.
 
As you know, stoneware from Benwood is rare. 
 
Excellent Condition.  A 1/4" flake on the spout back by the handle.  That's it!  No base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
