Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this 4 Gallon Stoneware Crock made and stamped by "Burger & Co., Rochester, N.Y."
 
This is the mark of John Burger, Jr. who ran the family's pottery under this stamp from 1877-1879 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 74).
 
This beauty sports the Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash, and the Freehand Capacity Number "4" Framed by a Large Wreath with Bottom Bow.  The decoration is executed with a slip cup with precision. Measures 11 1/2" tall and 12" wide across the top. 
 
Good Condition with Restoration.  Restoration top to bottom from the center of the right side of the wreath around the right side to the center back, and on the left handle.
