    Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 3 Gallon Jar with Garlands of Tulips.

     

    The jar's form and decoration make a confident attribution to David Parr who made stoneware in Baltimore, Maryland from 1815 to 1855 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 98).

     

    This beauty features a Squared Rim, Applied Handles, and Generous Brushed Cobalt Comma Vining around the Shoulder containing Two Dangling Tulips on Each Side.  Stands 15" tall. 

     

    Good Condition.  Three chips on the riim (1/4", 1/4", 3/4"), three chips on the base (1/4" to 1/2"), and a 6" hairline on the one side that wraps under 2" (closeup).  No inner rim chips, stains, or restoration.  A kiln touch on one side in the making.
