Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this Uncommon 4 Gallon Churn made and stamped for "W. T. Moore."
 
William T. Moore was a merchant in groceries and general merchandise in Middlebury, Ohio in the 1850's.  He had stoneware made for his business.  Pieces made for him are not commonly seen ( F. Robert Treichler, A History of Northeast Ohio Stoneware, pp. 48-49. 
 
This piece comes from the collection of James Murphy sold at Garths in May 2015.  
 
This beauty features a Slightly Ovoid Form, Carefully Tooled Rim, and the Capacity Number and Merchant Name Stamped on the Front.  Stands 17" tall.
 
Excellent Condition. A 1/2" chip on the rim on the left side, and some spots of staining from use.  That's it!  No inner rim or base chips, hairlines, cracks, or restoration.  A few small kiln touches in the making.
