Item 8547

Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 11/2 Gallon Jug made and stamped by "Satterlee & Mory, Fort Edward, N.Y."

This is the stamp of George Satterlee and Michael Mory who ran this pottery together from 1859-1885 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 68).

This beauty sports the Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash, and a Large Brushed Cobalt Bird on a Branch Decoration.  Less common maker and size. Stands 13 1/4" tall.

Excellent Condition.  A minor 1/8" nibble and narrow 1/2" chip on the left side of the spout, and some very light staining.  That's it!  No base chips, hairlines, cracks, or restoration.  A small kiln touch and salt drip below the bird's tail in the making.
