Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 2 Gallon Ovoid Jar made and stamped by "L. Marsilliot."

This is work of Leonard Marsilliot who worked the family pottery using this mark from 1828 into th 1830's (F. Robert Treichler, A History of Northeast Ohio Stoneware, pp. 5-6).

This beauty features an Ovoid Form, Large Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash, and a Freehand 2 Capacity Number.  Stands 11 1/2" tall.

Very Good Condition.  A chip inside the rim (3/16"), four chips outside the rim (1/4" to 1/2"), and some staining from use.  Stands 11 1/2" tall.   I hope to look this good at 190 years old, but I suspect that may not be possible!
