Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 5 Gallon Jar whose decoration indicates that it was made by A. P. Donaghho, Parkersburg, West Virginia.

Donaghho ran his pottery in Parkersburg from 1874-1900.

This beauty features Three Fancy Zippers or Tire Treads.  The smaller one at the top is made with X's  and incorporates the capacity number.  The two larger ones are composed of dots and triangles.  All the decoration is executed with crisp stenciling and strong cobalt. Stands 15 1/2" tall.

Very Good Condition.  The front half of the left handle is missing and a 4" vertical surface craze line to the left of the decoration (closeup).  That's it!  No rim or base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.   Extra salt on the front bottom and a semi-circular firing line on the underside-- both in the making.
