Coming to you from Doc's Crocks and a farmhouse in Pennsylvania comes this very unusual Stoneware Cover Weight from SW Pennsylvania. 

 

Circa 1880, this weight was used to weigh down cabbage in a crock in the process of making sauerkraut.  It is 11 1/2" in diameter and 1/2" thick.   

 

Very Good Condition.  Three chips on the rim (1/4" to 1/2") and traces of water glass staining.  No hairlines, crack, or restoration.
