Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 Gallon Blue and White Spongeware Pitcher from NE Ohio.

 

Dating around 1860, this beauty is hand-turned in heavy clay with a Tall Neck with Pinched Spout and Squared Rim, Incised Shoulder, Bulbous Base, and Blue Sponging on a Cream-Colored Glaze.   A true piece of country spongeware. Stands 9 5/8" tall.

 

Excellent Condition.  As made.  No damage of any kind.  A surface 1" drying line and a 3" surface firing line at the base in the making.
