Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful Blue and White Spongeware Syrup Jug.
This little guy is the work of F. H. Weeks who ran his pottery in Akron, Ohio from the early 1870's and in partnership with his brother in the late 1870's (F. Robert Treichler, A History of Northeast Ohio Stoneware, pp. 51-52).
This beauty features Fancy Swirl Paneled Sides and Gorgeous Blue, White and Gold Sponging in Alternating Vertical Rows. Stands only 5 3/4" tall.
I have never seen a multi-colored syrup jug by this maker.
