Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this Early 1 Gallon Ovoid Jug with Incised Fish from New England. 

 

Dating to the early 19th century, the form and fish decoration are similar to jugs with this decoration made by Jonathan Fenton of Boston, Massachusetts and William Pecker of Merrimacport, Massachusetts, but unique in itself. 

 

This beauty features a Tall and Narrow Shape, Ovoid Form, and Incised Fish with Cobalt Fill.  Stands Large Size, Ovoid Shape, Tooled Shoulder, and Inscribed Fish with Cobalt Fill.  Stands 12 3/4" tall.

 

Very Good Condition. A shallow 3/8" chip on each side of the spout, a ping on the shoulder on the right side (closeup 1), a 1/2" chip and some wandering surface lines at the base (closeup 2), and some staining from use.  No cracks or restoration.  A recess on the front middle to the right in the making.
