Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful Blue and White Toothbrush Holder in the Rose Transfer Pattern.
Dating around 1900, this beauty features a Flared Rim, Ribbed Neck, Bulbous Body, Pronounced Footer, and a Yellow and Red Rose Transfer. Stands 5 1/4" tall.
You can see a discussion of this pattern in Terry Taylor and Terry and Kay Lowrance, Collector's Encyclopedia of Salt Glaze Stoneware, p. 211.
Excellent Condition. An 1/8" nibble on the footer. That's it! No rim chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration. What looks like a chip on the footer (bottom picture) is a glaze skip in the making.
