Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this Gorgeous 1 Gallon Pitcher made and stamped by the "Beaumont Pottery, York, Maine."

It is the work of Jerry Beaumont who inscribed his cross and the date of 1985 on the bottom.  In my humble opinion, Mr. Beaumont has been and continues to be one of the best contemporary potters in America today.  His work from York, Maine was some of his finest.

This beauty features the Classic 19th Century Pitcher Form, Tooled Rim, Bulbous Body with Pottery Stamp, Footer, and Rich Cobalt Decoration.  On the front the decoration included a leaf on each side of the spout, cobalt wash on the pottery stamp, and double dotted tulips with base leaves.  Comma vining enhances each side, while a leaf graces the handle and base of the handle.   Stands 9 1/4" tall.

Comes from an extensive Massachusetts collection whose owner had personal ties to both the potter and the artist.  She gave me the privilege of buying this and many other Beaumont items.

Exceptional Condition.  As made.  No damage of  any kind.
