Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this great Tophat Wax Sealer Canning Jar made and stenciled by "A. P. Donaghho, Parkersburg, W. Va."
It was made by A. P. Donaggho of Parkersburg, WV (1874-1900). It is named a "tophat" because upside down it looks like a Civil War period man's hat like Abe Lincoln wore!
This beauty features the "Tophat" Form, Wax Sealer Tooled Grooved Opening, and the Company Stencil on a Diagonal Across the Front. The stencil is complete and crisp. Stands 5 1/2" tall.
Exceptional Condition. As made. No damage of any kind. A chip with a 1/2" line in the rim above in the back in the making and glazed over (closeup).
