Item 9836

Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 2 Gallon Decorated Lidded Preserve Jar.

The distinctive decoration indicates that it was made by Josiah Van Schoick and Ezra Dunn who ran their pottery in Middletown, New Jersey from 1853-1883 (M. Lelyn Branin, The Early Makers of Handcrafted Earthenware and Stoneware in Central and Southern New Jersey, pp. 216-219).

This beauty features a Delicate and Artistic Double Tulip Decoration and what appears to be the Original Lid.  Stands 12" tall.

Excellent Condition.  Some waterglass staining inside and some traces outside.  That's it!  No chips, hairlines, cracks, or restoration.   A 1" vertical drying line on the bottom of the right side in the making as shown.  The lid has a 2" hairline from the edge.  Otherwise as made.
