Item 1269
Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 Gallon Jug made and stamped by the "Fulper Bros., Flemington, N. J."
This is the mark of George Fulper and his brothers who ran the family pottery under this arrangement from 1881-1898 (M. Lelyn Branin, The Early Makers of Handcrafted Earthenware and Stoneware in Central and Southern New Jersey, pp. 132-137).
This beauty features the pottery stamp and a Stylized Floral. The floral is identical to that on stoneware from the Ottman Bros. of Fort Edward, N.Y. and indicates a decorator from that pottery went to Fulper after the Fort Edward potteries closed. Stands 11" tall.
Excellent Condition. A narrow 1/2" chip inside the spout and 3/8" chip on the right side of the spout. That's it! No base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
