Item 2888
Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful Table Pitcher made by Whites of Utica featuring a Deer Hunt.
Made about 1900, this beauty features Two Hunters with their Trophy Deer on One Side and Two Deer in the Meadow on the Other. Detailed trees and grass provide the background. The handle looks like a tree limb and the head of a buck with a full rack resides under the spout to tie the decoration together. A German phrase is inscribed at the top on both sides. Exceptionally crisp details and cobalt blue shading. Stands 6 1/2" tall.
The German phrases are connected. One side (handle right) says "He will remain a fool for life... and the other side (handle left) says "Who does not love wine, women, and song."
Excellent Condition. Two small flakes inside the rim (3/16", 1/4"). That's it! No outer rim or base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
