    Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 Gallon Stoneware Pitcher.

     

    Dating to the mid-19th century, this beauty features a Rolled Rim, Tall Neck, Inscribed Shoulder Band, Bulbous Base, Applied Handle, and Albany Slip Glaze.  Stands 10" tall.

     

    What is very interesting about this pitcher is that the potter held it from both sides with his thumbs on the bottom of front as he dipped it in the Albany slip. The prints of his four fingers and palms are on the sides and the print of his thumbs are on the front!  

     

    Excellent Condition.  Some minor small wear spots.  That's it!  No chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
