Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 Gallon Stoneware Merchant Jug made for "M. Hausling, 132 N.J. R.R. Ave., Newark, N.J."  (The name is typically spelled "Haussling")

 

This merchant typically had script jugs made by the Fulper Pottery of Flemington, New Jersey around 1900.  This jug is earlier and late 19th century. 

 

This beauty features the Company Advertising in 3 impressed Lines with Cobalt Wash and a Stenciled Thistle Plant!  Very unusual.  Stands 10 3/4" tall.

 

Very Good Condition.  Three small chips on the spout (1/8" to 1/4"), and glaze around the middle. No base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.  Fine bubbling in the cobalt in the making.
