Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this uncommon 2 Gallon Cake Crock made and stamped by the "Fulper Bros., Flemington, N. J."

This is the mark of George Fulper and his brothers who ran the family pottery under this arrangement from 1881-1898 (see M. Lelyn Branin, The Early Makers of Handcrafted Earthenware and Stoneware in Central and Southern New Jersey, pp. 132-137).

This beauty features the Cake Crock Form, Semi-Squared Rim, Strong Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash, and a Bluebird on a Branch Decoration.  The bird is executed in a pretty, shiny cobalt.  Measures 7 1/4" tall and 11" wide across the top.

Very Good Condition. A 1/2" chip on the rim on the front right side that is partially a stone ping in the making. A T-shaped hairline on the back bottom with the tail wrapping under across the bottom. Only half the T and only about 3" of the tail show inside.  No inner rim or base chips or restoration.
