Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 2 Gallon Crock made and stamped by the "Fulper Bros., Flemington, N. J."

 

This is the mark of George Fulper and his brothers who ran the family pottery under this arrangement from 1881-1898 (M. Lelyn Branin, The Early Makers of Handcrafted Earthenware and Stoneware in Central and Southern New Jersey, pp. 132-137).

 

This beauty features the Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash and Cobalt Floral Decoration Executed with a Slip Cup in Rich and Shiny Cobalt.  Measures 9 1/4" tall and 10" wide across the top. 

 

This is an early salt glaze piece by Fulper who definitely employed a former decorator from the Ottman Brothers Pottery in Fort Edward.  Many early Fulper pieces bear identical decorations to those found on Ottman pottery by the same hand.   

 

Excellent Condition. A minor 1/8" nibble and 1/2" chip inside the rim. Otherwise, as made.
