Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this rare 1 Gallon Stoneware Merchant Script Jug made for the merchant "Fred W. Dunn, Plainfield, N.J." to hold "Case's Pure Cider Vinegar, Clover Hill, Hunterdon, Co., N.J." 

 

Fred W. Dunn (1852-1941) was a grocery store merchang on North and Park Avenues in Planfield from 1884 to 1907.  Many  merchants across New Jersey sold Case's Cider Vinegar. 

 

This beauty features Three Lines of Very Bold Cobalt Script Advertising and Three Lines of Impressed Advertising with Cobalt Wash  Below.  Stands 11 1/4" tall. 

 

Excellent Condition. A 1/2" chip on the top of the spout on the left side and another on the base.  That's it!  No hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
