    Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this Dated Cream Pot. 

     

    The decoration indicates that it was made by Asa Smith of Norwalk, Connecticut who ran his pottery during the period of 1825 to 1843  (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, pp. 58-60).

     

    This beauty features the Ovoid Form, Draped Decoration at the Shoulder, Frilly Tulip, and the 1841 Date.  Stands 8 3/4" tall.

     

    Fair Condition.  A half-dozen minor chips on the rim (1/4" or less) and a glued crack in front of the right handle (closeup).   Out of round in the making.
