Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 3 Gallon Stoneware Churn made and stamped by "Clark & Fox, Athens."
This the stamp of Nathan Clark who founded the Clark family pottery in Athens N.Y. in 1805. He partnered with Ethan S. Fox from 1829-1843 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 66).
This beauty features a Semi-Ovoid Form, Applied Handles with Cobalt Accent at the Handle Terminals, Oval Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash, and a Brushed Cobalt Flower on Each Side. Stands 15 3/4" tall. Comes with a period churn guide and dasher.
Very Good Condition. A 2" hairline from the rim to the handle on the left side. That's it! No rim or base chips, cracks, stains, or restoration. The guide has three small restored chip on the upper edge.
