    Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this gorgeous 1/2 Gallon Wax Sealer Canning Jar.

     

    It hails from either the pottery of Hamilton and Jones or James Hamilton in Greensboro, Pennsylvania.

     

    Circa 1880, this beauty features a Tooled Rim with Groove for the Wax, and a Stemmed Rose.  The rose features a stem with two leaves and three buds, and a center blossom surrounded by six leaves.  Bright cobalt on a light gray background for strong contrast.  Stands 8 1/2" tall.

     

    Good Condition.  Chips inside the rim as shown, and a 1 1/2" hairline on the back bottom that wraps under 3" (closeup).  No outer rim or base chips, cracks, stains, or restoration.
