Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 3 Gallon Ovoid Jar made in the Midwest.  
 
Circa 1870, this beauty features an Ovoid Form, Tooled Rim, Applied Handles, Salt Glaze, and a Capacity Number Incorporated into a Zigzag in Bright Cobalt.  Stands 13" tall.  
 
Excellent Condition. Some glaze loss inside at the bottom, and two narrow 1" chips on the bottom edge.  No rim chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration. A vertical 2" glazed firing line at the base in the making.
