Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this masterwork 2 gallon jug double-handled jug made and stamped by the "Beaumont Pottery, York, Maine."

It is the work of Jerry Beaumont who inscribed his cross, the date of 1986, and his initials "JB" on the bottom.  In my humble opinion, Mr. Beaumont has been and continues to be one of the best contemporary potters in America today.  His work from York, Maine was some of his finest.

This piece is also signed "D. Friebely" currently known as Diana Card, the folk artist.  She created the Folk Art decoration on this jug

This beauty features the Double-Handled Form, Pottery Stamp, and a Phenomenal Portrait of "The Chartge Up San Juan Hill."  Nine Soldiers charge up the hill under a huge flag with incised stars.  Perhaps the best piece in the collection that I purchased.  Stands 13 3/4" tall.

Comes from an extensive Massachusetts collection whose owner had personal ties to both the potter and the artist.  She gave me the privilege of buying this and many other Beaumont items (including the sign from the York, Maine pottery).

Exceptional Condition.  As made.  No damage of  any kind.
