Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 Gallon Jar made and stamped by the "Beaumont Pottery, York, Maine."

It is the work of Jerry Beaumont who inscribed his cross, the date of 1988, and his initials on the bottom.  In my humble opinion, Mr. Beaumont has been and continues to be one of the best contemporary potters in America today.  His work from York, Maine was some of his finest.

This beauty features a Preserve Jar Form with Applied Handles, Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash, and a Parrot on a Stump Overlooking Three Houses Amidst Trees and Bordered by a Fence.  The decoration comes from mid-19th century Norton of Bennington, Vermont Water Coolers with Wrap-Around Decoration.

Comes from an extensive Massachusetts collection whose owner had personal ties to both the potter and the artist.  She gave me the privilege of buying this and many other Beaumont items.

Exceptional Condition.  As made.  No damage of any kind.
