Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this masterwork 2 Gallon Jug made and stamped by the "Beaumont Pottery, York, Maine."

It is the work of Jerry Beaumont who inscribed his cross, the date of 1987, and his initials on the bottom.  In my humble opinion, Mr. Beaumont has been and continues to be one of the best contemporary potters in America today.  His work from York, Maine was some of his finest.

This piece is also signed "D. Friebely" who is currently known as Diana Card, the folk artist.  She created the Folk Art decoration on this jug

This beauty features the Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash and a Detailed 19th Century Lady Carrying a Woven Basket.  She is walking down a path from a house in the background.  An additional house and plenty of ground cover complete the scene.  Gorgeous cobalt! Stands 13 1/4" tall.

I rarely see a 2 gallon jug by the Beaumont pottery, but in this case allows the artist to create a masterpiece,

Comes from a small collection here in Ohio purchased yesterday.

Exceptional Condition.  As made.  No damage of  any kind.
