Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this Redware Version of the Lion of Lucerne Switzerland Sculpture.
The sculpture was made in 1820 by Lucas Ahorn and Bertel Thorvaldsen to commemorate the Swiss Guards that Died in the French Revolution. I have included a picture of the sculpture above.
This rendition is in Redware with Bennington Glaze. Measures 6 1/4" long, 2 1/2" wide, and 5" tall.
Very Good Condition. A 1/2" chip on the top at the edge, a 1/8" narrow wear spot on two toes. No base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
