    Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this Fantastic 2 Gallon Jug made and stamped by "W. H. Farrar, Geddes, N.Y."  

     

    This is the work of William H. Farrar who worked in Geddes (Syracuse) from as early as 1840 and intermittently until 1868 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, 70).  

     

    This beauty features a Beehive Shape, Strong Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash, Freehand "2" Capacity Number, and a Brushed Cobalt Floral with Four Blossoms Decoration.  A leafy stem yields to two tulips blossom at the bottom and two fancy dotted blossoms at the top. All the decoration is created with a slip cup in dark cobalt.  Stands 14" tall.  

     

    Excellent Condition.  A 1/4" chip inside the spout, two chips outside the spout (3/8"), a 1/2" chip on the underside at the edge, and light staining on the left side.   No hairlines, cracks, or restoration.
