Coming to you from Docs Crocks is this 1 Gallon Preserve Jar stamped "Penn Yan" Upside Down.
 
This beauty dates around 1870 and features a Flared Rim, Scribed Shoulder, Pottery Stamp, and Brushed Cobalt Plant. It has a seating ring inside for use with a lid. Stands 1/2" tall.
 
Very Good Condition.  A hairline from the rim above the right handle that comes down on the surface of the handle to the cobalt accent (closeup) and some staining from use.  No chips, cracks, or restoration.
