Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful Mid-19th Century Fancy Guilded Frame with Oil Painting.
 
This piece has been in my wife's family from the beginning.  The painting is by one of her relatives too far back to identify.
 
The frame has a very fancy, detailed floral and shell embossed inner garland, with more straight lines defining the inner and outer border.  Original guilding. Measures 17 3/4" long, 7 3/4" tall, and 2" wide.  
 
The painting is on board and the subject matter is a river with woods on the left and a small farm on the right.  A little boat is moored to the water's edge.  It measures 14" long and 4" tall.
 
Very Good Condition.  The frame has general aging with small chips at the corners and some guild loss here and there as shown.   All the delicate filigree work inside is pristine.  The oil painting is without damage.
