    Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this Cute Little 1 Gallon Stoneware Crock stamped "Lyons."  

     

    The decoration indicates that this is the work of Thompson Harrington who ran the pottery in Lyons, New York from 1852 to 1872 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, pp. 73-74).

     

    This beauty sports a Small Size, Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash, Freehand "1" Capacity Number, and a Brushed Cobalt Tulip.  The tulip has 5 leaves and a blossoms with 8 petals.  Strong cobalt.    Measures 6 3/4" tall and 8" wide across the top. 

     

    Excellent Condition.  Scattered very light staining.  That's it!  No chips, hairlines, cracks, or restoration.
