Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this 2 Gallon Jar made by "J. Hamilton & Co., Greensboro, PA."  
 
James Hamilton ran his pottery in Greensboro from the 1860's to 1880 (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, pp. 154-157). 
 
Dating to the 1870's, this beauty features a Broad Top and Bottom Stripe that Frame the Company Advertising and the Capacity Number Flanked by Leaves.  Stands 11 1/2" tall.
 
Good Condition with Restoration.   A faint stain run on the front and competent restoration to two approximately 2" portions of the rim (closeups). No inner rim or base chips, hairlines, or cracks.
