    Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this Rare 10" Wax Sealer Fruit Jar made by "Hamilton and Jones, Greensboro, PA." 

     

    This is the work of Frank Hamilton and John Jones who worked in Greensboro, PA from 1865 to 1897 (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, pp. 154-157). 

     

    Circa 1880, this beauty features the 10" Size, Wax Sealer Form, Company Advertising, and a Plum or an Apple Hanging from a Branch with Two Leaves.  Crisp and complete decoration.  Stands 10" tall.

     

    This pottery made fruit jars in 6", 8", and 10" sizes.  The fruit on the front included a cluster of cherries, a pair of pears, a peach, a plum, or an apple.

     

    Excellent Condition.  Two minor nibbles on the inner rim.  Otherwise Mint!  Glaze drip below the decoration in the making.
