Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful Gaudy Ironstone Cup and Saucer in the Strawberry Pattern.

It was probably made by Thomas Elsmore and Thomas Forster who made pottery in Tunstall, Stoke on Trent from 1853 to 1871.  At the time of this listing, I have two signed platters with this exact decoration.

This beauty features Green and Cobalt Plants Coming in from the Edges to the Center where They Yield a Multitude of Strawberries.  The cobalt leaves are overlayed with gold.  Cobalt trim and red roses in the corners.   The cup measures 3" tall and the saucer 5 3.4" wide.

Excellent Condition.  The cup has a minor 3/16" flake on the base (top on the photo of the underside) and some minor loss to the green leaves.  Otherwise as made.  The saucer has a few minor glaze scratches from use.  Otherwise as made.  Some pinhead-size bubbles in the glaze at the rim in the making.  A very clean and little used example.
