Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this Large 5 Gallon Jug made and stamped by "Cowden & Wilcox, Harrisburg, PA."
 
This is the mark of John Wallace Cowden and Isaac Wilcox who ran the pottery in Harrisburg with this stamp from 1863 to 1880 (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners , pp. 55-58).
 
This beauty features the Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash and Two Large Brushed Cobalt Chrysanthemums in Bright and Shiny Cobalt.  The blossoms are 5" in diameter.  Stands 16 1/4" tall. 
 
Very Good Condition.  Staining from use.  No chips, hairlines, cracks, or restoration.  Scattered loss to the cobalt in the making.
