Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful Blue and White Butter Crock with Lid.

I believe it was made by the Western Stoneware Company of Monmouth, Illinois.

Dating to the early 20th century, this beauty features a "Butter" in a Fancy Border, with Diffused Blue an White Coloration.  The base is marked "2" for two gallon and the lid is marked "3" but fits well (probably interchangable).

Excellent Condition.  The base has some very minor pinhead-size nibbles in the inner rim where the lid sits. That's it!  No outer rim or base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration. The lid has three chips on the side of the knob (1/4" to 3/8").  Otherwise as made.
