Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this uncommon Blue and White Butter Crock in the Fall Harvest Pattern.
Made in the early 20th century, this beauty features a four scenes framed by columns, scrollwork on the top, and fencing on the bottom. The scenes feature cows and trees, a house and trees, and sheafs of wheat just harvested. Diffused blue coloration. Measures 4 1/2" tall and 7 1/4" wide.
This pattern is uncommon and one of the most detailed of all blue and white butter crocks. It is discussed in Terry Taylor and Terry & Kay Lowrance, Collector's Encyclopedia of Salt Glaze Stoneware, pp. 117.
Excellent Condition. A single 1/4" chip inside the rim. That's it! No outer rim or base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
