Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful and Uncommon Blue and White Bowl in the Cosmos Flower Pattern.
 
Dating to the early 20th century, this beauty features a Waffle Background Hosting 8 Cosmos Flowers within Beaded Arches. A ribbed collar and base complete the decoration. Very attractive coloring with the collar and alternate arches in darker blue.  Very strong mold lines! This is the large size that measures 4 3/4" tall and 9 3/4" wide.
 
You can find a fine writeup on this item in Taylor and Lowrance's, Collector's Encyclopedia of Salt Glaze Stoneware, pp. 156-57. These are very hard to find, especially in this condition.
 
Excellent Condition. Glaze wear inside at the bottom and a 3/4" chip in the footer.  That's it! No rim chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
