Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 Gallon Preserve Jar made and stamped by the "Beaumont Pottery, York, Maine."

It is the work of Jerry Beaumont who inscribed his cross, initials and the date of 1984 on the bottom.  In my humble opinion, Mr. Beaumont has been and continues to be one of the best contemporary potters in America today.  His work from York, Maine was some of his finest.

This beauty features the Preserve Jar Form, Pottery Stamp, and a Bold Bird on a Branch Decoration.  This classic decoration from the late 19th century was first outlined in rich cobalt and then the middle brushed in with more rich cobalt.  Stands 8 5/8" tall.

Comes from an extensive Massachusetts collection whose owner had personal ties to both the potter and the artist.  She gave me the privilege of buying this and many other Beaumont items (including the sign from the York, Maine pottery).

Exceptional Condition.  As made.  No damage of any kind.
