Item 8446
Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this Tiny 7" Jar whose decoration make it easy to attribute to Richard Remmey of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
Richard Remmey ran the family pottery in Philadelphia from the 1860's until the turn of the century. (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, pp. 8-10).
Circa 1870, this beauty features a Small 7" Size, Tooled Rim and Shoulder with Groove for Tying a Cover Over the Top, and Three Brushed Cobalt Leaves with 7 Brushstrokes Each. The cobalt is bold and shiny like we like it. Stands 7" tall.
Excellent Condition. Some waterglass staining inside from use and a 1/2" chip on the underside at the edge. That's it! No rim chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
