Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this rare Miniature Advertising Mug Match Safe reading, "Compliments of Pike & Madoc & Smith, Importers of China & Glassware, Utica, New York." 
 
The rough circles on the bottom indicate that it is a match safe that holds the matches and provides a striker on the bottom.
 
Dating about 1890, this beauty features exquisite Victorian Graphics with 5 Different Fonts and Fancy Frillwork All Around. A real cutie at only 2 1/8" tall!
 
Excellent Condition. An 1/8" nibble on the bottom edge that may be partially in the making.  That's it!  No rim chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
