Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this monumental 4 Gallon Ovoid Jar.
 
I have been unable to determine maker or region of manufacture. 
 
Dating around 1830, this beauty features the Ovoid Form, Squared Rim, Unusual Capacity Number, and Cobalt Accents at the Handle Terminals.  The capacity mark is an impressed octagonal with freehand number and dots-- all filled with cobalt.  
 
Excellent Condition.  Some wear on the back of the right handle.  Otherwise as made!
